Christabel pinto

Vice President for Literacy - Room to Read

Christabel Pinto is an educator with more than 20 years of experience teaching children, facilitating teacher professional development, designing education programs, and engaging communities in Africa, Asia, and the United States. In her role as the Vice President for Literacy at Room to Read, she leads the design and execution of Room to Read’s literacy portfolio across 28 countries with the goal of ensuring all children acquire both the skills to read and a deep desire to do so.  Christabel has a Master of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education and a Master of Arts in International Education Development from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Emily miksic

Foundational Learning Specialist

Emily Miksic is a foundational learning leader and change agent with 20 years of experience across Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and the United States, with a strong track record of driving outcomes at scale through data-driven approaches and systems strengthening. She brings deep experience in foundational literacy instruction and assessment, development of teaching and learning materials, teacher professional development, educational research, and strategic program design and implementation. Ms. Miksic holds a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership: Reading Education from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Arts in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University.
