Association for the Development of Education in Africa

ADEA is first and foremost a forum for policy dialogue. Established in 1988 as a framework for better coordination among development agencies, it has evolved into a pan-African institution built on a genuine partnership between African ministries of education and training and their technical and external partners.

For the last 60 years, CODE has grown into Canada’s leading international development agency focused uniquely on education and literacy. CODE envisions a world where every young person can pursue their education and realize their full potential as a literate, empowered, self-reliant citizen. CODE’s mission is to enable student learning by increasing their access to qualified educators and locally-relevant, high quality learning materials.

DFID leads the UK’s work to end extreme poverty. They are tackling the global challenges of our time including poverty and disease, mass migration, insecurity and conflict. Their work is building a safer, healthier, more prosperous world for people in developing countries and in the UK too.

Global Partnership for Education

GPE is a multi-stakeholder partnership and funding platform that supports the strengthening of education systems in 67 developing countries to dramatically increase the number of children who are in school and learning. GPE brings together developing countries, donors, international organizations, civil society, teacher organizations, the private sector, and foundations.

Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation

Norad is a directorate under the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the foreign ministry of the Kingdom of Norway, that works to ensure that Norwegian development aid funds are spent in the best possible way, and to report on what works and what does not work.


Save the Children

Save the Children is an international non-governmental organization that promotes children's rights, provides relief, and helps support children in developing countries. In 2017 alone, they reached more than 155 million children in 120 countries with programs in education, health, child protection, and emergency response.

United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization

UNESCO seeks to build peace through international cooperation. UNESCO's programs contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals defined in Agenda 2030, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015.


United Nations Children’s Fund

UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.

U.S. Agency for International Development

USAID leads international development and humanitarian efforts to save lives, reduce poverty, strengthen democratic governance, and help people progress beyond assistance. USAID carries out U.S. foreign policy by promoting broad-scale human progress at the same time it expands stable, free societies, creates markets and trade partners for the United States, and fosters good will abroad.

The World Bank

The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. They are a unique partnership to reduce poverty and support development through low-interest loans, zero to low-interest credits, and grants to developing countries that support a wide array of investments in such areas as education, health, public administration, infrastructure, financial and private sector development, agriculture, and environmental and natural resource management.

World Vision

World Vision is a Christian organization working to help communities lift themselves out of poverty. In 2017, 85 percent of World Vision's total operating expenses were used for programs that benefit children, families, and communities in need through programs in education, health, economic empowerment, child protection, food and water security, and relief for refugees and disaster survivors.
